Woman found dead

Rourkela: The body of a 50-year-old widow was found in a pool of blood near her house in Patuabeda village in Sundargarh district, 80 km from here, police said on Tuesday.

According to the police, the victim, Ella Pradhan, was killed by unidentified persons with an axe when the other members of her family were away to attend a marriage in a nearby village on Monday night.

Preliminary investigation indicated that she might have been killed on the suspicion of practising witchcraft. –PTI
