A businessman, Rajender Kumar Nimani, 52, died after the lift he took on the second floor of MB Towers at Ghansibazar in old city collapsed on Tuesday. “It seems someone on fifth floor pressed the lift button. The lift went up to the fifth floor and collapsed from there due to some technical fault,” Charminar Sub Inspector Naik said. Fire accident at Rikabgunj Fire broke out in a carton shop at Rikabgunj in Charminar police station area on Tuesday night resulting in huge damage to property. Smoke was found emanating from the shop around 10 p.m. and within minutes flames engulfed the entire shop. Three fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire. House burgledBurglars decamped withRs. 50,000 and gold ornaments weighing 30 tolas from a house at Boduppal after sneaking in by removing the window grills on Monday night. The house owner Kumar, a technician of Indian Institute of Chemical Technology , went to Chennai along with his family members on Friday. On return, Kumar’s family members on Tuesday found the house broken and the property stolen. Found murderedA security agency owner’s brother, Arif, 21, was found murdered on the premises of a factory at Katedan in Rajendranagar police station area on Tuesday. Arif went to the factory carrying Rs. 5,000 with him on Monday night. He was supposed to disburse salary amounts to two of the agency guards, Ram Pukar of Bihar and Sharma, the next morning. Pukar was on night duty at the factory. “Arif too used to stay back for the night at the factory sometimes and slept there on that night too,” the police said. The next morning, he was found lying dead with multiple knife injuries on the body while Pukar was absconding. Police suspect that Pukar stabbed Arif to death and fled after collecting the money he carried.
