Five killed in accident

ERODE: Five persons were killed, and as many injured, in a road accident near Dharapuram on Tuesday.

According to the Kundadam police, a group led by Father Titus alias Kadapasamy of the Indian Church Association at Tirumangalam in Madurai were on their way to Udhagamandalam for a church congregation.

A container lorry, ferrying knitwear from Tirupur to Tuticorin, hit the taxi they were travelling in.

Father Titus (46), David Rajan (48), his daughter Sweety (15), Simion (29) and taxi driver Balu (32) were killed.

Jonathan (39), his son Joel (8), Christy, Prabakaran and Adi sustained injuries.
