Happy moment: Students who received offer letters from Infosys and other IT firms at the JKC of Tara Degree College in Sangareddy on Tuesday.

Sangareddy: Medak Collector Piyush Kumar on Tuesday called upon parents to encourage and support the students who found employment in Hyderabad through the Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) in Tara Degree College here. He said this after handing over offer letters to 38 students who had training from the JKC here. The students were absorbed by BPOs and IT companies including Infosys. Piyush Kumar said that many of the parents with rural background hesitate to send their wards to far away places. He said that letting the children choose their way would help break the vicious circle of poverty that has been plaguing the rural economy.

He asked every one to understand how a student from no urban orientation transformed into a professional in just two months of training at the JKC. The centre offered training for Rs. 750 for two months while the students from weaker sections received the training free of cost. The Collector also inaugurated the computer centre at the JKC for the benefit of the trainees. JKC Coordinator B.Krishnaiah and Principal B. Prabhakar were also present.
