State may get FIFA grant

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu could be a major beneficiary of around Rs. 4 crores from FIFA if the State is able to provide about 10 acres of land for the widely welcomed ‘goal project’.

The President of the Tamil Nadu Football Association, C.R. Visswanathan, said, “we had made a request to the State government for a 10-acre plot near Coonoor to avail of FIFA’s grant and set up facilities for high altitude training programmes.”
