Agent robbed

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Some criminals, two of them dressed as traffic policemen, robbed a collection agent of Rs.20 lakh after throwing chilly powder into his eyes at Mandawli here on Monday night.

The incident took place around 9 p.m. when Azad Khan, who works for a Sahibabad-based businessman, was returning in a car after withdrawing the money from ABN Amro Bank in Connaught Place. The car was being driven by Imran.

According to the agent, the car was near a CNG pump when two men in traffic police uniforms made the car to stop. Just then two more persons arrived there and threw chilly powder into the duo’s eyes. The miscreants broke a windowpane of the car and took away the bag containing cash.
