Minor criminally assaulted

NEW DELHI: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly criminally assaulted by a neighbour in Swarup Nagar here this past weekend. The accused is absconding.

Uddham, a 24-year-old native of Farukhabad in Uttar Pradesh who was visiting his sister living in Swarup Nagar, allegedly forced himself on the girl when she was alone in her house. The victim’s elder sister caught him in the act but did not inform the police.

However, after the victim’s father came to know about the incident, he lodged a complaint with the police on Monday. Subsequently a case was registered and a hunt launched for the accused.
