This Day That Age
The Government of India and the United States on April 29 signed nine project agreements under the Indo-American Technical Assistance Programme. The agreements provide a total of 1,287,000 dollars to assist India in the fields of Health, Education, Industrial Research, Agricultural and Industrial productivity. They initiate the United States fiscal year 1958 programme of technical assistance in India which totals 6.2 million dollars. The agreements were signed by Mr. N.C. Gupta, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance, for the Government of India, and Mr. Howard E. Houston, Director of the United States Technical Cooperation Mission to India.
