NEW DELHI: Bringing together the works of three young artists from M. S. University of Vadodara is an exhibition of painting at Art Konsult in Hauz Khas Village here.

Titled “Chirag, Alok and Chinnan”, the 21-day exhibition that opened on April 23 shows the works of Alok Bal, Chinnan and Chirag Patel who have divergent visions but a common faith in art. What connects them is a similarity of thought processes and influences on each other.

Chirag’s central theme for this exhibition is the Gir lion, “the pride of Gujarat”. By connecting the ubiquitous and highly colourful vehicle “Chakkada” to the majestic lion, he laments the latter’s fast disappearance.

Alok takes the cynicism one step forward by talking about nature as a whole. His works speak of the urban landscape that leave no room for nature to grow. The canvas gets even wider when Kerala-born Chinnan coverts the world to a stage. “My paintings don’t have a story. They are more interpretative than narrative,” he says.

The exhibition is open up to May 15.
