CHIKMAGALUR: Nine nomination papers were rejected after scrutiny in Chikmagalur district on Wednesday.

Most of the nomination papers rejected were those of candidates who were not issued with the B form. The nomination papers of an independent candidate, Sanjeeva, from the Chikmagalur Assembly segment, were not accepted for the lack of a sponsor.

The nomination papers rejected are those of B.B. Ningaiah (Janata Dal-S), K.T. Radhakrishna (Bahujan Samaj Party-BSP), N.R. Nagarathna (Congress) and Anil Surya (Janata Dal-S) in the Mudigere assembly segment, C. Nanjappa (Congress) in Kadur and H.S. Shivakumar, T.B. Shashidar and M.D. Deve Gowda (all BSP) in the Tarikere segment.
