`A major solace to industries’

TIRUPUR: The Tirupur Exporters’ Association has welcomed the annual policy statement presented by the Governor of Reserve Bank India on Friday saying the maintaining the Bank rate, Repo rate and Reverse Repo rate at same level was a major solace to the industry during the upsurge inflationary scenario.

Its president A. Sakthivel said in a statement that several measures taken by the RBI to tackle inflation would help for reduction of inflation. He welcomed the RBI’s decision to disseminate the details of various charges levied by banks which will enhance more transparency and hassle-free dealings with banks. The TEA appreciated the RBI’s proposal to introduce a scheme of incentives and penalties for bank branches to ensure that all bank branches provide better customer services to members of public at bank counters for exchange of notes.
