Haryana to seek aid in areas of power, roads, water etc. Govt. also to make presentation about new initiatives CHANDIGARH: A World Bank delegation will meet senior functionaries of the Haryana Government here on Thursday. The meeting will be presided over by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. According to official sources here, the State Government would be apprising the World Bank team of “developmental challenges” faced by Haryana and seek financial assistance in the areas of power, industrial training, roads, water supply and sanitation and for the State’s Resource Management and Livelihood Project. The sources revealed that Haryana would be seeking World Bank assistance of Rs.380 million for power projects whose total cost has been pegged at Rs.551.38 million. The State Government is also seeking World Bank assistance of Rs.595 million for modernisation of 17 Industrial Training Institutes. The road sector projects involve upgrading of State highways and major district roads. The sources added that the State Government would also make a presentation about the new initiatives taken to step up the pace of development. DelegationThe World Bank delegation would include Executive Director (India) Dhanendra Kumar, Executive Directors Felix A. Camarasa, Rogerio Studart, Shuja Shah, Toru Shikibu and Michel Mordasini, and Alternate Executive Directors Nuno Mota Pinto, Sid Ahmed Dib and Agapito Mendes Dias.
