Directive to remove illegal encroachments

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Minister of State for Forests, Tourism, Sports and Youth Affairs Kiran Choudhry on Wednesday directed officials of the Haryana Urban Development Authority to remove all illegal encroachments in Panchkula within this month.

She gave these directions while presiding over a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee at the Mini Secretariat in Panchkula. She also distributed tool kits and sewing machines to beneficiaries of the Golden Jubilee Urban Employment Scheme.

The Minister lauded the efforts of Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Rajinder Kataria for showing extraordinary presence of mind in extinguishing a forest fire in Morni recently. She said it was remarkable on his part to visit the fire-affected forest area during the night to get it extinguished before it spread to nearby villages and caused any major destruction.
