BHUBANESWAR: City police on Wednesday recorded statement of Gitanjali Panda, widow of Biranchi Das who was killed by unidentified assailants here recently. Ms. Panda came to office of Commissioner of Police where she reportedly gave the accounts of day of murder and also told the police how many times gangster Raja Acharya, prime suspect in the case, visited Judo Association Hall. After the murder, Ms. Panda, who is also a martial art practitioner, had taken charge of the Association. Meanwhile, Chagala, a co-accused in the murder case, was sent to jail after his remand period was over on Wednesday. Chagala went through lie detection test on Tuesday. Police said in lie detection test Chagala reiterated most of the statements he had made during interrogation.
