MCD inspector gets jail term

New Delhi: An Assistant Sanitary Inspector of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi caught by the Anti-Corruption Branch sleuths for taking bribe of Rs 300 from a fellow employee,working as an assistant in the office, for registering the name in the attendance register, has been sentenced to a year’s rigorous imprisonment by a court here. While convicting the 37-year-old accused Manish Grover, Special Judge Sat Pal Garg also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on Grover, who was convicted under sections 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.
