Undue favours were extended to a construction major Charges against three more ex-DDA officers, five others NEW DELHI: A special court on Wednesday framed charges against former Delhi Development Authority Vice-Chairman Subhash Sharma, three former senior DDA officers and five others in a case of granting undue favours to construction major DLF Universal for monetary considerations. Special CBI Judge I.K. Kochhar framed the charges against the accused under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code, including that of criminal conspiracy. Apart from Subhash Sharma, the three senior DDA officials named in the case are former Director (Land and Development) Anand Mohan Saran; former Commissioner (Planning) Vijay Risbud; and former Director (Land) Jagdish Chandra. The other five accused are Ajay Khanna of DLF Universal Limited, alleged middleman Dharamvir Khattar, Ravinder Taneja, G.R. Gogia and Mukesh Saini. According to the prosecution, the DDA officials had entered into a criminal conspiracy with other accused through Khattar for allowing the floor area ratio (FAR) of 300 as against 139 in a project in Central Delhi at half the market price. Sharma was to get Rs.50 lakh as bribe, the CBI had alleged. The case was registered in 2003 when the CBI had unearthed the involvement of Sharma, Khattar and others in different cases of allowing undue benefits against payment of bribe.
