RAJAPALAYAM: The Municipal Council meeting was adjourned without discussing any subject for the seventh time here on Wednesday.
The Chairperson, R. Rathinammal (Congress), on entering the hall, objected to two more chairs put near her seat. She wanted them to be removed. The chairs were for the Municipal Commissioner, D. Mony, and the Vice-Chairman, S.A. Manikanda Raja (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam). She adjourned the meeting within a few minutes and left the hall.
Later, members of the Congress and the AIADMK came close to exchange of blows. The Congress and the AIADMK had lodged complaints with the police against each other on the issue.
