Oration on paediatric infectious diseases

CHENNAI: The 17th Dr.M.S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Endowment Oration, organised by the Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust Hospital, will focus on current concepts in paediatric infectious diseases. The oration on ‘nosocomial infections’ will be delivered by V. Ravikumar, paediatric surgeon from Coimbatore, on May 4. R.K. Agarwal, president, Indian Academy of Paediatrics, is expected to talk on the subject ‘future vaccines.’ A continuing medical education programme will also be held the same day. These will be preceded by a workshop on laboratory diagnosis of paediatric infectious diseases on May 3, to be held at the hospital. The workshop hopes to arrive at a consensus on tackling diagnostic dilemmas in such cases. — Special Correspondent
