Businessman held
NEW DELHI: A 49-year-old businessman has been arrested in connection with the murder earlier this month of a money-lender of Alaknanda.
According to the police, Jagjeet Singh had lent some money to Mohammed Shafiq who supplies tailoring material. Shafiq was under pressure from Jagjeet to return the money, but the former was unable to do so.
Shafiq allegedly hatched a plan to eliminate Jagjeet and invited him to his house in Azad Market. According to the police, he threw chilly powder into Jagjeet’s eyes and bludgeoned him to death. Shafiq then stuffed the body into a gunny sack and dumped it at Rajendra Market.
