e-tendering system introduced in the State

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Minister for Public Works and Science and Technology, Kailash Vijayvargiya, said here on Thursday that massive efforts were being made to achieve progress in the IT sector in the State. The Minister said that Indore, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna and Sagar districts would be fully computerised under the e-district project to minimise dependence on paper work. Once the project gets fully implemented, copies of khasra, income, domicile, birth and death certificates would be obtained online with digital signature in these districts. The plan is to replicate this project in all other districts in the second phase. Mr. Vijayvargiya told media persons that an e-tendering system has been introduced in the State for government tenders relating to work departments. Wipro has implemented the project on a build-own-operate-transfer basis. Under the National E-governance Plan , Ernst and Young have drawn up the e-governance roadmap and blueprint.

Under this project, training was imparted to State Ministers, IAS officers, CEOs and Deputy CEOs of the State Government at the Indian School of Business through the National Institute of Smart Government.

Mr. Vijayvargiya said that under the new Information Technology Policy of the State Government released in April 2006, 212.63 acres of government land has been allotted at Badwai village in Bhopal for development of a software technology park. In Gwalior, 13.814 hectares of government land has been allotted near the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management for a software technology park. Similarly at Purva village in Jabalpur, a Special Economic Zone would be developed on 90 acres of land by private investors. Mr. Vijayvargiya said the Centre has sanctioned Rs.12 crore for developing the State Wide Area Network (SWAN) in Madhya Pradesh. The project envisages interlinking of all block headquarters with district headquarters, the district headquarters with divisional headquarters, and the divisional headquarters with the State Capital. The Minister said mponline web portal provides the facility of online filling of forms for the Professional Examinations Board, Rajiv Gandhi Praudyogik Vishwavidyalaya and Open School.
