MCI team inspects college

Dharmapuri: A three-member Medical Council of India (MCI) team on Thursday inspected facilities available at the Dharmapuri Government Medical College for granting approval to start MBBS course.

It visited maternity and intensive care wards, laboratories, X-ray and scanning sections and all departments. Hospital sources said the members also interacted with patients, checked the arrival of outpatients and the number of surgeries performed.

The team examined buildings meant for the medical college, seminar hall, students’ hostel and staff quarters to find out whether they were conformed to MCI standards.
