Safety, their last concern

Siris Company is back in news, albeit for all the wrong reasons. Two workers died after a powerful explosion in the company at L. B. Nagar on Sunday last. This is the second such incident in the company. A few years ago, a major fire accident occurred in its unit at Vijayawada.

Despite these incidents, the Siris management appears not to have learnt any lessons, as far as ensuring safety to its employees is concerned. The Fire and Emergency Services Department has also declared that the management ignored mandatory safety measures at its L. B. Nagar unit.

Will other companies take a cue from the Siris disaster and take mandatory fire safety measures?
