The heat is on, day or night

Heat, dust and mosquitoes. And the most nagging feature of the season – load shedding. The heat is really on.

These last few days Hyderabadis are experiencing sweltering days and searing nights. “It is getting hotter by the day,” is the refrain everywhere. Global warming, green house gasses whatever be the reason for the climatic change, Hyderaba dis know how pleasant was the weather a few decades ago. Temperatures never crossed 38 degree Celsius in the good old days thanks to the presence of mini forests in the city. But now only the names remain – Basheerbagh, Kanchanbagh, Baghlingampally. The verdant boulevards have all vanished. And so are the water bodies.

Will it get any worse?
