* A Pudukottai report “Nurse held on charges of negligence” (Tamil Nadu, May 3, 2008) said a nurse attached to the Government Hospital in Alankudi was arrested on charges of negligence after a woman on whom she performed DNC surgery died recently. D and C, or dilatation and curettage, is a minor surgical procedure, using local anaesthesia.
