Double delight for Sudharshan

TUMKUR: Tamil Nadu’s V. Sudharshan claimed a double in the boys’ under-18 category of the AITA Talent Series junior tennis championship which concluded at the Tumkur Tennis Club courts here on Friday.

Sudharshan won the doubles final, partnering Karnataka’s S. Karan on Thursday, with a 6-2, 6-7(2), 6-3 win over P. Nitesh and Veera Vasanth Venkatesh.

In the singles final, Sudharshan crushed Karan 6-1, 6-1 in just under an hour.

The girls’ singles final too proved to be lopsided as Rachana R. Gowda claimed her second successive under-18 title with a 6-1, 6-4 win over U.M. Shalaka.

Boys: Under-18: Singles: V. Sudharshan (TN) bt S. Karan (Kar) 6-1, 6-1; Doubles: Sudharshan & Karan bt P. Nithesh & Veera Vasanth Venkatesh (Kar) 6-2, 6-7(2), 6-3.

Girls: Under-18: Rachana R. Gowda (Kar) bt U.M. Shalaka (Kar) 6-1, 6-4.
