Manjunath quits

Chitradurga: Congress leader R. Manjunath has resigned from the post of Chitradurga District Congress Committee president. Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, he said he was disappointed with the way the party had treated him and had hence decided to resign. He said he had faxed his resignation to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Mr. Manjunath, who is contesting as an independent, alleged that the Congress had failed to identify strong and well-meaning local leaders.
