BELLARY: Of the 126 candidates whose nomination papers were found to be in order, 36 withdrew from the contest on Friday, leaving 90 candidates in the race. Bellary (city) has the highest number of candidates (31) followed by Hagari Bommanahalli (10), Kudligi (9), Hadagali (8), Bellary and Kampli (seven each) and Sirguppa, Vijayanagar and Sandur (six each). — Staff Correspondent
