PT against forceful demolition of wall

CHENNAI: Puthiya Tamizhagam leader K. Krishnasamy on Friday warned against forceful demolition of the 600-metre wall preventing the Dalits from entering into the areas of the caste Hindus in Uthapuram in Madurai district saying that it would lead to caste clashes and permanent alienation of Dalits.

In a statement here, he said the wall could be removed through talks between the two communities.

“Peace prevails in southern districts and problems between various communities can be resolved through talks,” he said. — Special Correspondent
