Seven killed in road accident

RAJAPALAYAM: Seven passengers travelling in an over-crowded autorickshaw were killed when it collided head on with a State transport corporation bus on the Srivilliputtur-Tirunelveli highway near here on Friday.

While five of them, including the driver, P. Selvaraj (25) of Ambedkar Nagar, and V. Ganesan (35) of Sholapuram, were killed on the spot, two died at the Government hospital here. One of them was M. Muthu (24) of Asilapuram.

Three passengers M. Murugan (40), K. Selvendran (20) and S. Irulappan (26) were admitted to the Government Rajaji hospital in Madurai.
