Villagers disrupt train services

KORAPUT: Train services between Koraput and Rayagada were disrupted today, as the villagers of Baharduluki, a small village between Rauli and Bhalumaska stations had blocked the rail line demanding a railway station near their village. Government had promised to look into their demands, which they had failed to keep and the villagers had come to the rails for holding demonstrations as a reminder of the unfulfilled promises of the government , the agitators said .

As a result of the blockade, Hirakhand express, which was heading towards Koraput from Bhubaneswar was sent back to Rayagada while the Howrah bound Samaleswari express and the Visakhapatnam bound DMU from Koraput were terminated at Tikiri railway station, sources said . -Correspondent
