Karunanidhi condoles Deshpande’s death

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, on Friday, conveyed his condolences on the demise of veteran Gandhian Nirmala Deshpande. Noting that she had spent her entire life as a “true Gandhian,” Mr. Karunanidhi, in his message, commended her seriousness of purpose. The country would always remember her excellent services towards the uplift of women and promotion of peace, he said. — Special Correspondent
