Health Department clarification

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Health Department has asked those who alleged that corruption took place in the purchase of computers for the National Rural Health Mission to prove it. In a rejoinder here on Friday the department contended that the purchase was done observing all norms, that tenders were invited and the order was given to the institution which quoted the lowest rate. Some sections had claimed that the computers costing Rs.25,000 were purchased for Rs.50,000. But the price fixed was Rs.22,500, it clarified. — Special Correspondent
