KOCHI: A real treat awaits Tamil movie buffs in the city.

Fans of Vijay are thrilled to watch their favourite actor on screen, with his latest movie Kuruvi.

An action-packed film, Kuruvi hit the screens on Saturday. There is a lot of expectation about the movie, especially after Vijay’s last flick, Azhagiya Thamizhmakan, failed to click at the box-office.

Directed by Dharani, Kuruvi is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin and LSS Sathyan under the banner of Red Giant Movies.

The Vijay–Dharani combine would like to repeat the success of their earlier movie, Ghilli.

The director has penned the script for his latest work. Kuruvi has six songs composed by Vidyasagar.

Malaysian rapper Yogi B. has sung the song Happy New Year along with Mr. Burn and Sunidhi Chauhan. The cast includes Ashish Vidhyarthi, Suman, Vivek, and Manivannan.

Moviegoers are equally excited about Kamal Haasan’s magnum opus, Dasavatharam. Rated as the most expected movie of the year, Dasavatharam has some real surprises.

The versatile actor plays 10 roles in the movie directed by K. S. Ravikumar. Produced by Oscar Ravichandran, the movie has already created ripples in the industry.

The audio launch hit the headlines for its star attendance. The who’s who of the film industry, including Jackie Chan and Amitabh Bachchan, had showered praise on the entire team behind Dasavatharam.

Bollywood music director Himesh Reshammiya has set music for the lyrics by Vairamuthu. Shot in locations in the U.S. and Malaysia (besides various places in India), Dasavatharam has Asin playing a double role for the first time.

Mallika Sherawat dons the role of a CIA agent in the movie. Jayapradha plays another key role. Story is by Sujatha and Crazy Mohan. Ravi Varman is behind the camera. Ashmith Kunder is the editor. Michael Westmore handles the make-up department. Thyagarajan has crafted the action sequences.

The release date of the movie is yet to be finalised officially but fans of Kamal Haasan hope that it might reach theatres by June.
