Officials inspect scheme implementation

VILLUPURAM: A host of officials visited Villupuram district on Friday to inspect the implementation of various welfare schemes, including the Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam and the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Director of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department Gagandeep Singh Bedi, accompanied by Collector Brajendra Navnit, took stock of the scheme implementation at Ginjee and Melmalaiyanur blocks.
He told the local bodies to deepen the water sources and clear the overgrowths from the playgrounds set up from funds provided under the village renaissance scheme. Additional directors of the department inspected Vanur, Marakkanam, Vikkiravandi, Kandamangalam, Thirukkoilur and Mugaiyur.
