Says police teams from neighbouring States are in Kerala in search of terrorists Alleges that several UDF, LDF leaders have connections with extremist organisations KASARAGOD: In the recent months, the police from neighbouring States have arrested several members of terrorist organisations from the State which proves that the State has become a haven for terrorists, BJP State president P.K. Krishnadas has said. At a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Krishnadas said he was daring the Home Ministry to rebut his statement and if it did so he would divulge the names of the arrested persons. He said that police teams from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu were in the State in search of those who created trouble there. Keeps State police offThey were not willing to seek the help of their Kerala counterparts to nab them as they had no belief in the State police, the BJP president said. Political influenceMr. Krishnadas clarified that he was not questioning the integrity of the State police but the level of political influence on them was very high and it made impartial investigation almost impossible. Mr. Krishnadas said several leaders in the UDF and the LDF had connections with extremist organisations and he was making the charge in his responsibility as the BJP State president. It was the generous approach of both the fronts towards extremist organisations that made the State a safe haven for terrorists, he said. In the aftermath of the Marad issue, the BJP had demanded a CBI inquiry to find the root cause of the issue but the UDF and the LDF did not accede to it, he said. Criticises NDFMr. Krishnadas said the NDF was trying to polarise society and added that such a move should not be allowed. In the recent clashes in Kasaragod there was an effort to create polarisation in society, he said. He said the BJP would provide all help to the police to maintain normality in society. But the police should expose those who were behind the recent clashes, he said. The investigations should not be confined to nabbing of those who committed the murders, he said. The BJP leader said his party would organise agitations to prevent extension of reservation in jobs to converted Dalits. Such a move would result in the Scheduled Castes in the State losing all their rights, he said. The BJP had taken the lead in forming a committee to protect reservation, which would be a coalition of various organisations of Scheduled Castes, and its convention would be held in Kozhikode in the first week of June. It would finalise strategies to intensify the agitation, he said. Mr. Krishnadas also demanded that the Union government restore the quota of foodgrains due to the State.
