DEHRA DUN: Vinod Chamoli was sworn in as the new Mayor of Dehra Dun over the weekend at a ceremony attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister B. C. Khanduri and Assembly Speaker Harbans Kapoor. Speaking to media persons later, Mr. Chamoli said his priorities would include making Dehra Dun a city free of garbage and polythene. Efforts would be made to plant trees wherever possible so that the city regains its green look once again. Regarding lack of parking, drinking water and toilet facilities, he said he would seek the opinion of the elected members as well as public to solve these problems.
