Special judge appointed
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: A special judge has been appointed to the newly sanctioned special court, under the Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 1997, at Coimbatore.
J. Krishnamoorthy, who was hitherto Sessions Judge, Mahila Court, Perambalur, has been posted as the special judge.
Boon to depositors
The State Government issued orders in July year sanctioning the constitution of the special court that will deal with cases registered under the Act in the western zone. This would be a boon to depositors as the cases could be speeded up.
According to a High Court notification, A.M. Basheer Ahamed, Principal District Judge, Salem, has been transferred and posted as PDJ, Dindigul, replacing P. Ramalingam who has been posted as Secretary of the High Court Legal Services Committee, Chennai, in the place of C. Raghavan, who has been posted as PDJ, Krishnagiri.
T. Ravindran, District Judge, Nagapattinam, has been posted as District Judge, Tiruvannamalai, in place of S. Chandrasekaran, who has been posted as District Judge, Nagapattinam.
