Students bring laurels to Gulbarga college

Of the 196 students of the college, 191 pass out with flying colours

Overall performance of Gulbarga district slips to 28th position in the State

GULBARGA: Students of Sharanabasaveshwar Residential Composite Pre-University College have brought laurels to their institution this year too by achieving a pass percentage of 97.5 in the Pre-University Board examinations.

However, the overall performance of Gulbarga district slipped from 26th position to 28th in the State in 2008.

The performance of the district also dropped from 31.20 per cent pass in 2007 to a mere 22.43 per cent.

Of the 196 students of the Sharanabasaveshwar college, who had appeared for the examination, 191 passed out with flying colours.

As many as 48 students passed out with distinction and 155 secured first class. Only five students failed.

100 in chemistry

Akshay Gadipatil emerged college topper with an aggregate of 573 of the 600 marks (95.5 per cent). He scored 100 in chemistry. Siddesh A. Ratkal came second with an aggregate of 566 marks (94.33 per cent). He also scored 100 in chemistry. Komal Mankar emerged third in the college with an aggregate of 558 marks (93 per cent).

In the physics chemistry mathematics combination, Sharath S. Ibrahimpur emerged first with 295 of 300 marks (98.33 per cent).

In the PCB combination, Siddesh Ratkal scored 290 of 300 marks (96.67 per cent).

Aksha Gadipatil emerged first in the PCMB combination with aggregate marks of 392 of 400.

Another feature of this year’s results is Girish Kakalwar and Sharat S. Ibrahimpur scoring 100 in mathematics and Girish Kakalwar, Rishikesh Baldwa, Shreyans M. Lagare and Siddanagouda Patil scoring 100 in electronics.
