Manda Krishna shifted to hospital

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: In a well-planned operation in the early hours of Saturday, police shifted the Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) founder Manda Krishna to Gandhi Medical Hospital, breaking his indefinite fast that had entered ninth day.

There was heavy presence of MRPS cadres around the huge house in Lakshmi Nagar, where he had parked himself for his ‘fast-unto-death’ demanding categorisation of Scheduled Castes and reservations in tune with their population. At 1.15 a.m. , a posse of police personnel stormed the building. A team brought him down from the second floor portion. He was whisked away to Gandhi Medical Hospital.
