KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) has won nearly one-third of the seats awarded under the Proportionate Representation (PR) system. All 25 political parties that secured seats under the PR system submitted the list of their representatives to the Election Commission, said officials on Saturday. A total of 335 representatives entered the Assembly under the PR system. Under the system, the votes received by political parties during the elections determined the number of seats they get. The Maoists topped the list with 100 seats, followed by Nepali Congress with 73, CPN (UML) with 70, Madhesi People’s Rights Forum with 22 and Terai Madhes Democratic Party got 11. — PTI
