Contributions pour in for ‘Anantha Aanimuthyalu’

ANANTAPUR: The district, mandal and grama samakhyas of Indira Kranti Patham (IKP) have pooled in Rs.13.10 lakh as their contribution to ‘Anantha Aanimuthyalu’ society formed by Collector N. Sridhar to help meritorious students from poor families to continue their education by extending financial assistance at Intermediate level.

A cheque for the amount was handed over to the Collector by president of Prashanti Zilla Samakhya Susheela and secretary Mary on Friday night.

The amount is the biggest contribution to the society so far either from an individual or from an association. The Collector complimented the women for their helping hand and thanked them for contributing the highest amount so far.

“We are contributing to the cause to help the meritorious students from poor families, who often discontinue education after SSC due to financial constraints to continue education ”, the Zilla Samakhya leaders aid. They were also accompanied by Joint Collector T. Chiranjeevulu and Project Director of IKP/DRDA N. Ramachandra Reddy.

Later, Mr. Ramachandra Reddy handed over another cheque for Rs.55,000 as one day salary contribution of the IKP employees to the Collector. Meanwhile, the Collector also wrote about 5,000 letter and e-mails to persons from the district in good earning positions elsewhere in the country and outside seeking their contribution to the cause.
