KADAPA: The Government is examining the scope for sanctioning bank loans to SC/ST entrepreneurs without insisting on collateral security and a decision would be taken within the next three months, Collector M.T. Krishna Babu said on Saturday. There is ample scope for setting up leather and textile units, he told an awareness camp for prospective SC/ST entrepreneurs here. The Government is extending concessions to SC/ST entrepreneurs coming forward to set up industrial units. He assured sanction of bank loans if interested entrepreneurs forward comprehensive project reports. He wanted entrepreneurs to establish industries based on the demand with a competitive spirit and not go for units of a routine nature. When some members complained that A.P. Industrial Infrastucture Corporation officials were discriminating against SC/ST entrepreneurs, he suggested that the issue be raised in the district vigilance and monitoring committee meeting. . District Industries Centre General Manager Sudarshan Babu said the awareness camp was aimed at motivating SC/ST entrepreneurs to establish industrial units. DRDA Project Director K. Ashok Reddy, APSFC District Manager Ghouse, Deputy Director of Industries Jayalakshmi, CEO of STEP B. Maheswara Reddy, Deputy Director of Social Welfare K.
