IIHT, handicrafts park mooted

BHUBANESWAR: For scores of weavers and artisans of the State, here are two major reasons to rejoice. While the Centre would set up an Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) at Bargarh, the State government has mooted a Handicrafts Park in the capital city.

The Institute would come under the Central Sector and the State government has already provided 32 acres of land and a building for the project, it was learnt.

The Park would come up on a sprawling campus covering nearly 200 acres at Gandamunda , revealed the Textiles and Handicrafts Commissioner Anita Agnihotri.
