S.O. Rajat SHIMOGA: S.O. Rajat of the DVS Independent Pre-University College here has scored the highest marks in the district in the II PUC examination conducted in April. He has secured 578 marks of the total 600, scoring cent per cent marks in physics, chemistry, mathematics and Sanskrit. Mary Immaculate Junior College here has registered 95.58 pass percentage, highest among the unaided institutions, and DVS Independent Pre University College has registered 75.95 pass percentage, which is the highest in the district among aided institutions. Government collegesGovernment Junior College of Avinahalli has registered 77.35 pass percentage which is highest among the government institutions. Fifth placeShimoga district has occupied the fifth place in the State as far as the pass percentage in the examination is concerned. Of 16,613 students who appeared for the examination in the district 9,023 have passed, accounting for 54.31 pass percentage.
