HASSAN: The police arrested eight people on Friday night and four on Saturday morning — all Janata Dal (S) supporters — for allegedly attacking Congress candidate Anupama while she was campaigning in Marashettyhalli in Holenarsipur constituency on Friday. Superintendent of Police K.V. Sharatchandra said here on Saturday that they had been released on bail. He said police security had now been provided to Ms. Anupama. A police jeep with a Sub-Inspector and four constables would accompany the candidate. Similar security has been provided to the former Minister H.D. Revanna. — Staff Correspondent
