Nearly 1,000 file papers for last phase

BANGALORE: Nearly 1,000 candidates have filed nomination papers in 69 constituencies in eight districts for the third phase of the Assembly elections to be held on May 22.

Saturday was the last day for filing nomination papers in Belgaum, Bagalkot, Gulbarga, Bidar, Bijapur, Haveri, Dharwad and Gadag districts. The scrutiny of nomination papers would be held on Monday and Wednesday was the last day for withdrawal of papers.
