Sangareddy: Former Minister and Telugu Rythu State president Cheruku Mutyam Reddy has been giving sleepless nights to his nearest rival, TRS candidate Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy by strongly supporting the cause of Telangana in the Dommata Assembly segment. Mutyam Reddy has already completed door-to-door campaigning in Pothareddypet, Ramesunipalli, Chinnanizampet, Nagaram, Enagurthi, Boppapur, Aakaram, Ramakkapet and Lachapet villages in Dubbaka mandal. He was very categorical in saying that he never opposed the formation of Telangana and is ready to withdraw from the contest if the Congress announces statehood right away. While the campaign managers of Mutyam Reddy have pitched banners of ‘Jai Telangana-Jai Telugu Desam’ every where, the rival Congress candidate Manohar Rao and TRS legislator S. Ramalinga Reddy have adopted a low key campaign. Ramalinga Reddy has been making rounds in the constituency is concentrating on weaning away TDP cadre to TRS. The Congress candidate on the other hand, being a first timer, is on a cadre-mobilising spree. Mutyam Reddy was unsparing in criticising the former TRS legislator for neglecting the development of Dommata. “ If I could develop Dommata sitting on the opposition benches why Ramalinga Reddy of TRS failed to do so?” he asked. While the campaign of TRS officially begins with party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s ‘Tanda Nidra’ in Ramayampet, thousands of CDs of former Siddipet MLA Harish Rao’s speech in the Assembly would be distributed as campaign material.
