Rahul does the star turn

CHENNAI: P. Rahul performed the star turn as Chennai St. Bede’s Sports Foundation ‘A’ defeated Kedar CA by 134 runs and won the Dicky Super Trophy under-16 cricket tournament on Saturday.

Rahul (97) and R. Ananth (50) helped CSSF ‘A’ score 293 for nine. B. Aparajith returned figures of three for 28 as Kedar was bowled out for 159.

G.R.Viswanath, former Indian Test captain, and N. Venkateswaran, vice-president (operations), India Cements, gave away the following prizes: Best batsman: Abhishek Mehra (TE-IPL); best bowler: B. Karthik (Kedar CA); best all-rounder: U. Sasidev (Kedar CA); man of the finals: P. Rahul (CSSF ‘A’); man of the tournament: B. Aparajith (CSSF ‘A’).

The scores (final): CSSF ‘A’ 293 for nine in 50 overs (R. Vishnu 26, R. Ananth 50, B. Indrajith 27, P. Rahul 97) bt Kedar CA 159 in 44.5 overs (M. Varun Kumar 52, Prateek Bukaria 28, B. Aparajith three for 38 ).

Kedar CA ‘A’ wins

Kedar CA ‘A’ defeated TE-IPL CA by 112 runs to win the Kedar’s Pearls under-11 cricket tournament here recently.

The scores: Kedar CA ‘A’ 220 for six in 30 overs (A. Aravind 94, Yogesh Narayanan 28, Ajith 29) bt IPL CA 108 in 24.3 overs (Varun Vamsi 38, Harishwar three for 20, P.B. Anirudh three for 16).

Twenty20 cricket
