7 held for allegedly receiving bets
NEW DELHI: Seven persons have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police for allegedly receiving bets on the ongoing Indian Premier League cricket matches.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team conducted a raid at a flat in Sector-15 of Rohini on Thursday and arrested three persons for allegedly receiving bets on a match. A television set, six cell phones and Rs.75,000 in cash received as bets were seized, the police said.
On Friday, four persons were arrested from a shop in Peeragarhi Chowk for allegedly receiving bets. A case has been registered at the Paschim Vihar police station.
