Running test should have been avoided: YSR

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has expressed serious concern over the recent incidents where three aspirants for constable posts in Warangal, Kottur Tadepalli near Vijayawada and Khammam district fatally collapsed due to severe summer.

Expresses displeasure

Dr. Reddy opined that the running test should have been avoided in the humid conditions even if they were part and parcel of the police recruitment.

Probe ordered

He ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the entire episode and wanted a detailed report to be submitted to him in a couple of days. According to an official press release, the Chief Minister said he would hold a review meeting on police recruitment with officials if necessary.
